Fishing was one of the main activities of life in Biarescie. In the cultural layer, bones and scales of catfish, bream, roach, bleak, pike, perch, ruff, and salmon were found. Net fishing is evidenced by wooden equipment to which netting was attached alongside floats used to keep the upper edge of the net afloat, lead and clay sinkers that anchored the lower edge, and pole bells that drew fish into the net. A fishing rod with a hook was also used, and for large fish, there were harpoons and spears.
