Woodworking always held an important place in the economic life of the city and was a daily occupation of the citizens. For example, Biarescie citizens made vehicles from wood. In summer they travelled in a telega (four-wheel horse-drawn vehicle) and in winter in a sleigh or on skis. In Biarescie, for the first time in Belarus, scientists have found an almost undamaged cartwheel. A brake shoe, six out of ten spokes, and a wooden rim have been preserved. This wheel was found in the layer of the ХІІІ century. Water transport was also widely used by Biarescie citizens as confirmed by a steering oar found here.
