A lock is one of the most complex ancient mechanisms. Lock production required considerable experience, skills and complex instruments. Biarescie locks were made of locking devices and protective screens; sometimes they were encrusted with nonferrous metals. In each cylinder lock were a locking bracket and a key forming a complex custom-made object. Its production required connecting from 30 to 50 parts by soldering, riveting, tinning and other processing methods. On the excavation site, 38 locks and 48 keys have been found. One of the keys has the very rare form of a spiral.
